京都一乗寺のギャラリー「青い虹」にてトルコ人アーティスト、ルメイサさんのアニメーションの上映会とアーティストトークを開催します。（トルコ語、英語字幕）
英語でのトークの前に、英単語や少し難しい表現をみなさんと共有してからショートアニメーションを鑑賞します。その後、イスラム文化の観点より芸術作品を制作すること、またイスラムの芸術について英語と日本語を交えて話します。お茶とお菓子を囲んでの小さな座談会です。ぜひご参加ください。

Hayat- An artistic practice from an Islamic lens’ An animation screening and an artist talk

A screening of Turkish artist Rümeysa’s animation and an artist talk will be held at the gallery “Blue Rainbow” in Ichijoji, Kyoto.

Rümeysa is an artist-driven to explore the themes of love, belonging and identity through the lens of Islamic spirituality. She uses animation and illustration as her medium.
 
Rümeysa graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam with an animation major. She won first prize in the bachelor research award with her thesis ‘Stories on Hold.’ After several years working in the creative industry, she started her master’s degree at the Graduate School of Manga at Kyoto Seika University.
